WELCOME TO DOMAINE SANCERRE LA POUSSIE
La Poussie, treasure of the Sancerre region produces a delicate and pleasant wine of Sancerre. Among all the greatest vintages that ensure the renowned secularity of the vineyards dominating the royal Loire Valley the great reputation of La Poussie has kept its original integrity.
Its origins go back at least to the Capetian monarchy as evidenced by a document dated approximately 1040. More recently the famous writer Honoré de Balzac wrote about the Sancerre vineyards « the region possesses several generous wines which are similar to the wines of Burgundy region and that are quickly consumed into the Parisian Cabarets ».
La Poussie is a white wine Sauvignon light and fruity, fresh and dry revealing its clay-limestone terroir. With its Pinot Noir parcels, La Poussie develops a suave and enchanting Sancerre rosé, saving the selected grapes of Pinot Noir to produce a delicate and subtle Sancerre red wine.
These three wines are since 1993 owned by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette who keeps on ensuring the very high quality of these wines.
